Started out with a red dot on it, but the laser doesn't need to be at eye-level. One of these days I'll throw a scope on it to establish just what it's capable of for accuracy. Have a 1.5-4X Burris EER sitting around idle just now and the riser is off the AR at the moment, so...maybe an update on that matter in a few.

You just gotta love the gas piston setup and "buffertubeless" back end.
Nice postban for sure. If it were me, I believe I'd try to get a couple of rail mounts and stick on the sides where the handguards should go.
There's an idea so you can keep your laser, and have it out of the way at the same time.

Nice! I like the skeletonized lower. I was thinking about doing that for a build but then I thought about cleaning it....... I still want to do it though.

Welcome to OA2 Molasses, I saw the OA-98 pistol earlier but now the [img] link seems to be broken…..I’ve never shot one before are they comparable to the K23’s? _________________ The Nonsense Stops! … when the Hammer Drops!

Don't know what to say about the [img]; it showed up for me when I just re-opened the thread to read the replies. I suppose that if worst comes to worst, I can try re-posting the link.
If the K23 is the critter with a padded buffer tube off the back, I've never been too enthused about them. On the one hand, the rear-mount buffer tube helps move the balance point back and does away with needing a carrier with a rod attachment up into that over-the-barrel return spring tube. To me the bigger deal is that NOT having the buffer tube makes for a much, much more pistol-like size and appearance and, IMHO, doesn't get in the way for firing from hip level or go bumping into the forearm when shooting one-handed. (FWIW, I think the OA-98 has recoil about like a .38 Spec. loading out of a 6" S&W 686)
{SHRUG} I'm betting that there are a ton of folks with much better informed opinions than mine who hold the opposite point of view! More power to 'em; if everyone thought and felt the same it'd be a pretty boring old world.  |
