| actually i'm of the opinion that it doesn't matter whether its a pump or a semi as long as you get a good one. i have a benelli m2 that i am quite sure will cycle. if i have to grab my mossberg pump i am equally confident in that as well, it just doesn't hold as many shells and takes slightly longer to get the next shot off. my personal opinion is that what ammo you choose is more important. |

I recently sold my Winchester Ranger and bought a Rem 870 Express Mag. I prefer Remingtons because the forearm grip is real comfortable. I ve jsut added a 10 round tube mag for it, awesome for squirrel hunting. _________________ A good shot takes full commitment...ya see those dead possums in the middle uh the road, they were partially committed.

Cool LongCarbine...on American Rifleman Television they were spotlighting the abilities of the 11-87 over the 1100, and basically its a more reliable, beefed up, dependable gun! _________________ A good shot takes full commitment...ya see those dead possums in the middle uh the road, they were partially committed.

I had a Rem Sportsman 48 I really regret ever giving it up. I have heard of prople having trouble with them but I never experienced any problems at all. I have a mossy 500 now & it's a good tool but I'm still watching for that replacement 48. _________________ SHOOTER |

Semi-auto shotguns when paired with the right load are extremely reliable. I favor semi-autos, but I will say that you do need to test and know how the loads will work in the given shotgun. Having said that I have never had an issue with any of my semi's.

Bought my son a semiauto remmington 1100. It has been a great gun. Cycles well and shots both 2 3/4 or 3 inch. He's been pretty successful in hunting cranes with it |

Sounds like I'm the only person here with a Winchester 1300.
That's okay, I still like it.
Always wondered why the weren't more popular. |

Man I tried to buy a 1300 from a pawn shop but the owner didnt agree with my drivers license information, he was being a total jerk so I said a few short meaningful words and found an 870 down the street. Yeah, I've had it apart and inspected it. Just seems like a re-issue of the old Model 12 to me. I picked it up new for about $250 so I'm pretty satisfied.
It's an 18 inch cylinder bore. We took it out with the thrower and shot some clays with BB shot and actually hit quite a few.
You had to be quick, though, it doesn't pattern all that great. |
